When I took these pictures, it was like I was looking at an angel walking on the lake. When light and water come together, it is peaceful and calm. They create a moment when I feel “real.” I feel free.Robert L.
Even in a sprawling major city you can find spots that are beautiful, tranquil and lush. You can leave all the hard edges of the streets and escape to a softer place, stare at the sky and the greenery, take a breather and let your imagination flow.Reggie H.
I love winter. I want my pictures to convey the beauty of intense sunrises and sunsets, and the joy in building snowmen, throwing snowballs and making snow angels. Every photo portrays more than what you saw in that moment. It also reveals what you felt. These pictures make me feel that I’m somehow a part of the picture. I am also in that moment; it is a picture within a picture.Rose W.
I like to photograph artistic things; color and light, shapes and sunlight. I like strong lines, deep colors and architecture. I like being able to walk right into a picture; to feel that the picture is 3-dimensional.Daniel G.
I love running and biking. I carry my camera and shoot pictures of my favorite routes- and water features are usually a part of them. I love being outside and feeling stronger with each run or ride. I can remember those feelings through my pictures.Jimmy M.
I take my camera with looking for images that reflect how I’m feeling that day. The geese at the lake fit my need to find something to brighten and lighten my mood. The pictures I shot at the bridge on a snowy day were more thoughtful because I was thinking of a special friend and wanted to find a special view of the city.Eric J.
Bucket List I have spent quite a bit of time with the After Supper Visions project. And I have had my share of success. I have watched the photography of some of the other participants. And I have learned quite a bit. While I try to challenge myself every year with my photographs, there have been many photographs what were always left “untaken.” Missed opportunities? No, not really. June, 2015, join me, as I start my visit to my photographic bucket list!!! I HOPE YOU ENJOY!Ray B.
This is my first year with ASV, but when Jody told me that ‘photography’ literally means, “writing with light,” I knew I found a way to “write down” my love of running and exploring. When I’m out, any moment can be a ‘Kodak’ moment that I will try to “write down” and remember. I love light and its shadows; sunrises and sunsets, light spilling into buildings and onto the lake, rivers, and the tall buildings of the city.Andy A.
My pictures record my journey connecting to the world around me. The winter shots create eerie feelings. They are thought provoking, ghostly. In Margate Park. the play of light sent an electric pulse through me and the swirling movement at the underpass felt as if long ago, in sepia, the camera froze forever a mysterious moment.Michele C.
Photography gives me opportunities to be creative and spontaneous. I go out with my camera every day; always on the lookout for an image that unexpectedly grabs my attention. In my photos, I tried to capture the cityscape and the ways the sun reflects off our beautiful buildings.Calvin C.
