ASV got me in touch with my musical and photographic past. I especially love this statue of Jesus sleeping. It is very important to me. I’ve been there. I have slept on beaches in the cold and the wet and it isn’t easy. Most people think this figure is of a homeless person, but it’s Jesus. You can see the nail holes in his hands and feet. When you understand that it is Jesus, you understand that there is hope. I was baptized at Willowcreek Community Church, Chicago Campus.Tony R.
Could this shadowy figure be Jesus in disguise surveying the premises and judging the living? And behold. I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the word of the prophecy of this book. REVELATION 22:7Calvin L.
I take my camera with looking for images that reflect how I’m feeling that day. The geese at the lake fit my need to find something to brighten and lighten my mood. The pictures I shot at the bridge on a snowy day were more thoughtful because I was thinking of a special friend and wanted to find a special view of the city.Eric J.
I selected the photo of flowers because of the beauty and colors. In the next shot, the lights shine and sparkle. In the last photo, I love the way the water flows as if fish were swimming in the water.Markeara L.
I like to photograph artistic things; color and light, shapes and sunlight. I like strong lines, deep colors and architecture. I like being able to walk right into a picture; to feel that the picture is 3-dimensional.Daniel G.
When I took these pictures, it was like I was looking at an angel walking on the lake. When light and water come together, it is peaceful and calm. They create a moment when I feel “real.” I feel free.Robert L.
I love taking pictures in Chicago because I love the town.Ralph C.
This is my first year with ASV. I’m really drawn to nature. I love the mix of colors and shapes, heights and textures, the light that accentuates the colors and the sunlight behind the trees was so gorgeous it was magical. I just keep watching and watching. When I walked up to this statue that just appeared in front of me, it was like he was sitting there just waiting for me to come.Sheri H.
Every picture I take is special. In shooting the manhole cover, cars stopped for me. They could have run me down, but they didn’t! In the umbrella picture, it felt great to be protected by all those statues with umbrellas. I became a protected member of the group. The sculpture reminds me of times when I was on the balance beam or balancing on skates; how brave.Aisha O.
