I really like to take pictures of Chicago’s buildings. When you look at our beautiful cityscape, you see the real Chicago. Visitors and residents see beauty, and the good, kind people working in those buildings; not crime. I shoot the skyscrapers because I’m basically afraid of heights and looking down. My pictures connect me to the buildings by letting me look up.Henry J.
The pictures speak for themselves.Barry G.
I love taking pictures in Chicago because I love the town.Ralph C.
I carry my camera with me because you never know when you’ll come up on something. Like these flowers growing on the steel beam of the El. It reminds me of ivy growing on houses, but more beautiful. My images reveal elements of our surroundings that are often missed by the naked eye and only revealed in the developments of the photograph. Sometimes you don’t realize all the lines, colors, and shapes of the urban landscape until it’s revealed in a photograph.Neal H.
I selected the photo of flowers because of the beauty and colors. In the next shot, the lights shine and sparkle. In the last photo, I love the way the water flows as if fish were swimming in the water.Markeara L.
I like to photograph artistic things; color and light, shapes and sunlight. I like strong lines, deep colors and architecture. I like being able to walk right into a picture; to feel that the picture is 3-dimensional.Daniel G.
I like the show. It gives me something to do when I’m not in the hospital with my C.O.P.D. I enjoy it!Roberta J.
My favorite picture is the silhouette of the horse near Union Station. That horse represents freedom as he flies across the sky free.Tom D.
This is my first year with ASV, but when Jody told me that ‘photography’ literally means, “writing with light,” I knew I found a way to “write down” my love of running and exploring. When I’m out, any moment can be a ‘Kodak’ moment that I will try to “write down” and remember. I love light and its shadows; sunrises and sunsets, light spilling into buildings and onto the lake, rivers, and the tall buildings of the city.Andy A.
I take my camera with looking for images that reflect how I’m feeling that day. The geese at the lake fit my need to find something to brighten and lighten my mood. The pictures I shot at the bridge on a snowy day were more thoughtful because I was thinking of a special friend and wanted to find a special view of the city.Eric J.
