After Supper Visions
The After Supper exhibit is a collection of photographic works by the dinner guests of Catholic Charities Tuesday Night Supper Program.
Since 2002, volunteers, including professional photographers, have been inviting dinner guests to participate in the photography project that culminates in a highly anticipated exhibit in June. Artist are given cameras, attend photography classes, and participate in photo shoots. The artist have several months in which to experiment, explore and pursue their individual visions and creativity.
After Supper Visions is an opportunity for the hungry and homeless of Chicago, served by Catholic Charities in so many ways, to participate in the artistic process. It is where hearts meet hearts on a level of pure joy, a level where the only difference is one’s preference of color, light or composition. It is a unique vision of our city, a vision that deserves to be seen.

“I chose to take pictures of Willis Tower because I actually worked there as a laborer for Diesel Construction in 1972, starting at ground zero. I was terminated when I got to the 87th floor. I would like to explain why I only went to the 87th floor of the 103 floors, it is quite interesting!”

“This is my second year doing the After Supper Visions show. I really enjoyed it. Last year I took the picture of the rose during the Christmas dinner at Catholic Charities, a reflection of another building hitting the garage made an interesting light show and a mirror image on glass with dancing rain on a stormy night.”
