EVENT WEBSITE

Impressive photographic artwork from the 2016 ASV collection will be featured alongside the work of local and nationally recognized artists at the 15th Annual Catholic Charities Gala of the Arts, Friday, September 9th at the historic Navy Pier Grand Ballroom.

Framed ASV 8×10 prints and a number of 11×14 prints will be on display and available for purchase, along with three 24×30 poster-sized prints, mounted and laminated. Orders will be taken for additional prints, with ASV artists benefitting from these purchases. Participation in the Gala is further affirmation that Chicago’s highly-esteemed art community continues to show sincere interest in and appreciation for the work of ASV artists. “The Gala committee chose artists’ prints from the 2016 Visions event that fit with their theme,” explains Kathy Donahue, Sr. Vice-President of Catholic Charities. “The ASV booth at the gala will sell framed prints and note cards and unframed prints from past shows, as well.”

Hundreds of Chicago’s civic and community leaders are expected to attend this glamorous event, while raising funds for Catholic Charities’ Emergency Relief Fund. The evening includes cocktails, dinner, dancing, raffle prizes and a spectacular Art Show and Sale. In honor of Frank Sinatra’s 100th Birthday year, this year’s Gala will feature a tribute to the music of the Rat Pack by Rich Daniels and the City Lights Orchestra, with special guest Ron Hawking.

Every thirty seconds someone turns to Catholic Charities for help and often it is the Emergency Relief Fund that is called upon for immediate assistance with heating bills, food or clothing. Ninety-two cents of every dollar donated goes directly to supporting those in need. For more information about attending the Gala of the Arts, go to www.catholiccharities.net.
